Founded in 2018, New York Safe Haven Animal Rescue is a foster based, 501c3 nonprofit organization based out of Long Island, NY. We rely soley on donations to keep on going and all of your donations are tax-deductible. Our organization is run by volunteers. The people present at our adoption events, answering emails, processing applications, transporting animals - all volunteers! If you'd be interested in joining our team please send us an email!
Our History
The founder of NYSHAR has always had a passion for helping animals. She began volunteering with multiple organizations in 2010 and decided to start NYSHAR in 2018. She is a 2014 award winner through the Pet Philanthropy Circle, NY and is also a chapter president for Kids Against Animal Cruelty.
Animals Are Our Mission
We like to help as many animals as we can. Since we are a foster based rescue we are limited in how many we can help at once. We also do not discriminate based on where the animal originates. Whether the animal needs saving locally, in the states or overseas, we are willing to help if we have the resources to do so.
